Since 1987, Brancepeth Castle Craft Fairs have been held twice each year: the last Friday to Sunday in July, and the last Friday to Sunday in November.

Acclaimed as one of the best organised Craft Fairs in the North-East, the crafts on offer are all selected for quality and diversity with an emphasis on real craft work. The person standing behind the stall will have made or designed the goods on offer and would love to tell you about their work, so do ask them!

The majority of the stalls are indoors in the lovely ground floor rooms of the castle, other stalls exhibit in the grassy courtyard which is a delightful place for relaxing in good weather.

The fair is organised and staffed by the owners of the castle which brings an unusual personal touch to the event. We hope you enjoy the beauty of this medieval castle as the back-drop to the fair.

Parking

Parking is on the grass immediately around the castle so it is only a short walk but can be a bit muddy in very wet weather. There is ample parking and experienced car park staff; for everyone’s safety, please be patient and follow their directions.

Standard entry: £4; £3 Age 66+

Children (under 14) free when accompanied by an adult.

Refreshments

There are two cafés open during the fair: Café Express opens onto the courtyard lawns and offers a quick service and shorter menu; the Castle Café is at the opposite end of the fair, with more seating and a wider choice.

Disabled Access

Disabled visitors are made welcome. There is a manual lift to enter the building: please ask for assistance. Alternatively, next to the lift is a short flight of steps with a handrail. Once in the building, everything is on one level and wheelchair friendly with disabled W.C. facilities.

Disabled parking is available although limited; staff will direct you when you arrive.
