Visit the castle on one of our guided tours!
Due to the Coronavirus outbreak we have suspended our programme of tours. We hope it may be possible to start the programme again soon and will keep the situation under review and update this page when we have further information
|
The schedule below gives dates from June. When we start again there will be a tour on every open day at 1.30, and on weekends and bank holidays an additional tour at 3.30. All tours are led by a member of the family and visit principal rooms in the medieval and Regency parts of the building on ground floor and basement levels. A tour typically lasts approximately 60-75 minutes.
No advance booking is necessary for individuals or small groups of up to 9 people. Please arrive at the gatehouse 10 minutes before the start of your chosen tour as we aim to start each one at the scheduled time. Tours for groups of 10 or more can be arranged for additional dates and can focus on a particular theme or interest. Refreshments can also be provided, from lunch to afternoon tea. Please contact us using the form below to discuss your requirements. |
Admission
Tickets are £10 for adults, and £3.00 for those under 16 when accompanied by an adult. Accompanied children under 10 are free.

The ‘Invitation to View’ events at Brancepeth Castle this summer have been cancelled. We hope to hold them next year. Please contact for Historic Houses with any queries.
Disabled Access
This is a historic building retaining many of its original features. As a result, there is unfortunately no direct wheelchair access in 2020.
Most of the tour is on the ground floor, which is all on one level and a wheelchair can be used, however there is a short staircase of 7 steps to reach the ground floor. Visiting the medieval cellars involves steps and uneven floors, and the castle courtyard is uneven in places.
If in doubt, please contact the castle office for advice. Contact Us
